I doubt any stamps will ever top the now-unavailable chocolate-scented-looking creation by the French postal service, La Poste, but props to Chunghwa Post 中華郵政, Taiwan postal service, on their latest special stamps collection featuring four traditional Taiwanese dishes (also sold online): Gong Bao Chicken 宮保雞丁, Mud Crab with Glutinous Rice Cake 紅蟳米糕, Three-Cups Chicken 三杯雞, and Hakka Stir-Fry 客家小炒.

Is it just me, or the pictures were taken straight out of a 1980s food magazine?

Also, I love that they have integrated the notion of seasonality with their stamps, with each trimester featuring a facet of Taiwan’s culture, or not. Below are some food-related theme collections.
